As the leaves turn and fall down from bare branches to carpet the earth, the chill of the winter season returns to the northern hemisphere once again. But what does winter mean for our gardens and local biodiversity, as well as for our collective wellbeing? Join us for a workshop at the Quinte Museum of Natural History that will help you to find ways to welcome winter in your life. This FREE event is part of our Roots of Resilience Lifelong Learning Series. We’ll explore local species that hibernate and quite a few that don’t, and how to create habitat in our yards that help both, supporting biodiversity year-round. We’ll also talk about the cycle of the year and what’s happening when winter comes around, and share tips and tricks for making the cold months enjoyable or at least tolerable rather than simply wishing for warmer days.
Presented by members of the QMNH community, Finn Dell and Stacey Kerr, this workshop is free to all participants, however since there is limited space available, we ask that everyone register in advance.
