Join us for an immersive hands-on workshop where you'll explore cutting-edge production techniques for creating atmospheric and ambient soundscapes. This interactive session focuses on experimental approaches to sound design, sampling, and creative audio manipulation. Whether you're looking to add new textures to your existing work or dive deep into ambient production, you'll walk away with fresh techniques and inspiration to elevate your music production skills.

Unlock fresh ideas with experimental techniques to create ambient atmospheric sound design

Requirements for Workshop:

  • Laptop
  • Ableton
  • A free 30-day trial of Ableton Suite is available for download: Ableton Trial
  • MIDI controller
  • Headphones
  • We will be sharing a folder of samples to use for the workshop via USB sticks. We will have some adapters, but please bring your own if you have one.
  • This is a beginner-intermediate workshop, so prior knowledge of Ableton is recommended. You should be comfortable navigating around Ableton and slicing audio clips. Music theory knowledge is not required; however, you will have the option to play in your own parts on a MIDI controller if you choose to.


About the instructor:

Sarah Pumpian is a music producer, singer-songwriter, educator, and industry professional with a career spanning performance, production, education, radio, and music festivals.

As the artist behind ZEMBU, their indie electronic music has amassed over 8 million streams. Sarah has spent the last 7 years as a music educator and served as the Program Manager for We Make Noise Fort Collins, a program focused on advancing gender equity in music technology. Sarah continues to be dedicated to both artistry and advocacy in the music industry.
