nside Out 2 returns to the mind of teenager Riley Andersen, where her familiar emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—are suddenly thrown into chaos by the arrival of new, more complex feelings led by Anxiety.As Riley faces the challenges of growing up, including friendships, identity, and social pressure, Anxiety takes control in an attempt to protect her future—often going too far. This creates conflict among the emotions and causes Riley to lose her sense of self.
Joy and the others must find a way to work with the new emotions rather than fight them, helping Riley understand that all feelings—even uncomfortable ones—play an important role in who she is becoming.
