Roots & Rhythm is a high-energy, culturally vibrant 6-week dance series designed to introduce youth to the expressive world of street styles and hip hop dance. Rooted in movement, rhythm, and creativity, this series offers a safe, inclusive environment for youth to build confidence, develop coordination, and explore the rich history and artistry of hip hop culture.
Each class blends movement instruction with musicality, freestyle exploration, and foundational dance knowledge. This six-week course, with the incredible Amil, culminates in a celebratory community showcase to highlight what participants have learned and created.

Class Times for Roots & Rhythm:
• Pre-Teen Class (Ages 7–11): Thursdays from 5:15 PM–6:15 PM
• Teen Class (Ages 12–16): Thursdays from 6:30 PM–7:30 PM

Welcome & Foundations: Groove, bounce, freestyle basics
Week 2
Freestyle & Confidence Building: Musicality, movement games, cyphers
Week 3
Street Styles: Popping & Locking: Isolations, hits, control techniques
Week 4
Street Styles: House & Footwork: Fast footwork, flow, floor connection
Week 5
Choreography & Group Creation: Sequence building, team collaboration
Week 6
Showcase & Celebration: Run-through, community showing, feedback
