As winter loosens its grip and the light returns, we gather in the woods to celebrate the turning of the seasons. The Spring Equinox is a threshold moment, a natural point of balance, and for thousands of years people have marked it in simple, earth-rooted ways: tending fire, walking the land, sharing stories, and coming closer to each other over food. This is a gentle rite of passage into a new season of growth, held with warmth, honesty, and real connection.

Across the day you’ll be guided through grounding wellness practices including forest bathing, breathwork, nature-based meditation, and a sound bath. Expect slow, accessible experiences that soften the nervous system, make space for clarity, and help you release the heavy winter layer as you welcome what you’re ready to grow.

Central to the day, we’ll gather round the table for a fire-cooked, seasonal and nourishing meal, prepared with care using fresh ingredients from the environment that surrounds us. Shoulder to shoulder in community, we return to something ancient: the shared table as medicine, the fire as a meeting place, the meal as a reminder that we’re not meant to do life alone.

Throughout, the ethos of The Conscious Self holds the container: safety, warmth, honesty, and space where all parts of you are welcome. Ancient threads of tradition woven with modern understanding of the nervous system, so the shift is not just something you think about, it’s something you feel.

The Glade is an event space in the heart of a beautiful North Yorkshire woodland, just outside Stamford Bridge, around 8 miles from York. Centred around a wood-fired kitchen and woodland bar, there’s sheltered seating for up to 40 guests, cosy cushions and blankets, blazing fire pits with locally sourced wood, and conveniently located toilets with hot running water.

This event takes place in a wild environment with natural hazards you’d expect in a British woodland, please wear appropriate clothing.
