About this Event
The purpose of the policy labs is to produce city-specific, actionable policy and practice recommendations that prevent the displacement of Black-owned businesses by improving commercial affordability, expanding community ownership, and strengthening local capacity to advance those solutions.
The labs convene cross-sector stakeholders, use localized data and real-time scenario modeling to prototype strategies, and culminate in a short policy brief and follow-up support to carry the work forward.
The hands-on lab brings together business owners, capital movers, policymakers, developers, community advocates, and philanthropy to prototype solutions that fit local conditions.
