About this Event
Pause. Reflect. Create something that will grow with you.
There are stories we carry, memories that shape us, and reflections still waiting to be written.
Rooted Pages is an intimate guided experience designed to honor Black History Month through reflection, creativity, and personal storytelling. Rather than focusing only on what has already been recorded, this gathering creates space for the stories still unfolding, the ones living within us right now.
During this experience, you will create your own journal, thoughtfully designed with choices African fabric and other decor to hold your memories, reflections, and evolving story.
This is not about perfection. This is not about writing beautifully. This is about beginning.
Together, we will slow down, step away from the noise of everyday life, and enter a space that is grounded, welcoming, and intentional.
The journal you begin here is meant to live with you and to be returned to when memories surface, when clarity arrives, or when you feel called to write. It is not meant to be finished in one sitting.
Tonight is simply the beginning.
What You’ll Experience
Guests will be gently guided through a reflective process that invites both creativity and introspection.
You will:
• Create your own journal using beautiful African textiles and etc
Begin the first pages with thoughtful reflection prompts
• Choose what your journal will hold — your story, your family’s story, or the story you are still becoming
• Give your journal a name that feels honest and personal
• Leave with something meaningful that continues long after the evening ends
No writing experience is needed. Just come as you are.
Why This Experience Matters
Not every story is found in a book. Many are carried through memory, conversation, and lived experience.
This gathering is an opportunity to honor that truth by creating a personal archive, a place where your voice, your reflections, and your story can exist freely.
What you begin here is yours to keep, revisit, and grow over time.
Who This Is For
This experience is perfect for adults who are seeking a meaningful way to honor Black History Month while investing in personal reflection and creativity.
You do not need to consider yourself a writer or a creative person.
All that is required is a willingness to show up.
Capacity: Limited to preserve an intimate and thoughtful atmosphere
All materials are included.
What you begin here is not meant to stay on the page for just one night — it is meant to live with you.
Black history continues to unfold through the lives we are living right now. Come create a place to hold your part of that story.
