About this Event
Rooted in Care is a trauma-informed, hands-on natural hair workshop created for caregivers, families, and youth-serving professionals who support children and young adults with coily, curly, or wavy hair.
This session teaches the foundations of natural hair care through culturally rooted education, safe grooming practices, and beginner-friendly demonstrations. Participants will learn wash day routines, detangling techniques, moisture layering, product selection, protective style basics, and how to support youth identity through affirming hair care.
The workshop is designed to be gentle, accessible, and welcoming to complete beginners. Whether you are a parent, foster parent, adoptive parent, caseworker, family member, mentor, or professional, this session provides the confidence and clarity needed to support textured hair with dignity and care.
Each participant receives a learning packet, affirmation card, and certificate of completion.
