About this Event
Stay Fresh — Caring for the Body You Live In Confidence & Agency
A reflection on freshness, preservation, self-care, and the power of showing up for yourself, explored through healing, wellbeing, community, and the truth of what it means to be alive and well right now.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A 2-hour evening experience designed to be accessible, welcoming, and deeply nourishing, no experience required, no pretentious vibes, just real tools, real people, and real community.
This month, and as always, we are bringing gifted healers, artists, creatives, and community-rooted practitioners doing some of the most important work happening right now.
Who will be in the room:
Kia Islam opens the evening with music and sound. A yoga guide, sound healer, dj, and multidisciplinary artist whose work sets the tone from the very first note.
Linda Lopes leads the opening meditation and closes the night with Sacred Drumming. A Brooklyn-based Medicine Woman rooted in ancestral wisdom whose work bridges rhythm, breath, and presence. If you were at Volume 3, you already know what she does to a room.
Joél Leon takes the stage for spoken word. Bronx-born poet, cultural critic, and author of the 2025 Gotham Book Prize-nominated "Everything and Nothing At Once: A Black Man's Reimagined Soundtrack For the Future." 1.6M views on his TED talk. Featured at MoMA, Lincoln Center, and the New York Times. Joël writes stories for Black people, and for everyone who has ever needed to feel seen.
Dr. Mahogany L. Browne closes the spoken word portion of the evening. Writer, playwright, organizer, educator, NY Emmy finalist, NAACP finalist, Kennedy Center Next 50 Fellow, and inaugural Poet-in-Residence at Lincoln Center. Author of Chrome Valley, winner of the 2024 Paterson Poetry Prize. One of the most powerful voices in American poetry, in Brooklyn, for this community.
