About the Program

Rooted & Rising is a mental health and wellness program created specifically for Black youth in Ottawa. This space centers the experiences, voices, and identities of young people from African, Caribbean, and Black communities.

Growing up as a Black youth can come with unique pressures, expectations, and experiences. This program creates a supportive environment where youth can talk openly about mental health, identity, culture, and community while building confidence and resilience.

Through conversations, activities, and peer connection, participants will explore what it means to be rooted in culture and rising into their full potential.


What Youth Will Gain

• A safe and supportive space for Black and racialized youth
• Open conversations about mental health and identity
• Opportunities to connect with other youth from the African, Caribbean, and Black community
• Refreshments provided
20 volunteer hours for school
• Free participation

🕔 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
📍 610 Donald Street, Ottawa

👥 Ages 14+



Who Should Join

This program is intended for Black and racialized youth who want to connect with their community, explore their identity, and strengthen their mental wellness.
