ROOMS

ROOMS at Gunder offers audiences an experimental dance performance incorporating movement, film, audio, personal object, and fabric. Built from a process grounded in care and comfort, ROOMS features improvised and choreographed sequences that prioritize being spontaneous and present. Each performance immerses audiences in a sensorial landscape of our childhood memories, familial histories, and domestic spaces.

ROOMS at Gunder is crafted for small groups, providing an intimate and unique experience for guests. Performances run approximately 1 hour with 30 minutes of open time before and after each show for guests to browse our installation pieces.

ROOMS brings together samplings from dropshift’s Sense Series: DWELL/burrow (2022), bloom (2023) and objects (2023).

RSVP required, showings have limited capacity.

This project is made possible by an ARCS program partnership with Berger Park Cultural Center and the Chicago Park District. It is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, STAIR residency with Chicago Moving Company at Hamlin Park, Chicago (2022-23), and many generous contributions from individual donors.
