Romance meets fantasy at Exeter Library this February. We're bringing together local authors, readers, and writers for an afternoon of panels, workshops, and book browsing.You'll meet six local Romantasy authors—Madeline Dyer, Roxan Burley, Laurie Mather, RJ Milner, Hayley Pierce, and Jeanna Louise Skinner—who'll have stalls throughout the afternoon. First Draft Books will also be selling titles from the genre.
The programme includes two panel discussions and a hands-on workshop. At 1pm, authors talk about publishing routes and how social media has shaped Romantasy. At 1:45pm, join a world-building workshop where you'll learn to create fantastical settings (suitable for ages 16+). At 2:30pm, we discuss writing inclusively and sensitively within the genre.
Throughout the day, you'll find a craft activity where you design your own Romantasy story dice.
This is a free event and you don't need to book, but registering on Eventbrite helps us plan numbers. The cafe is closed on Sundays, so bring your own refreshments if you'd like them.
Whether you're a devoted reader or a writer working on your own Romantasy novel, you'll find something here. See you on February 15th.
