35+ years of lived and professional expertise — turned into practical tools for confident engagementAbout this Event
You are invited to a Romani Language & Culture Workshop hosted at Trafford Town Hall led by Juice Vamosi, Romani Language Consultant & Cultural Mediator and Founder of KaskoSan Roma Charity.
Why language unlocks trust & understanding
- Language reflects a history of slavery, migration, discrimination, and resilience.
- These histories shape everyday behaviours in schools, health and safeguarding settings.
- When professionals lack the cultural meaning behind behaviours, engagement breaks down.
One Romani expression can reveal history, trauma & trust at once
This workshop decodes:
- Romanipe — identity, dignity and belonging expressed through action
- Antigypsyism — how discrimination shapes trust
- Pachiv & Kris — honour, respect & decision-making rules
- Group & dialect diversity — why families avoid others
- Fear & shame responses — silence, refusal or withdrawal as self-protection
Workshop details:
- Facilitator: Juice Vamosi, Romani Language Consultant & Cultural Mediator and Founder of KaskoSan Roma Charity
- Time: 22nd May 10 am - 2.30 pm with half hour for lunch
- Room: Committee Rooms 2 & 3, First Floor, Trafford Town Hall
