🔥Rolando Bruno y el Grupo Arevalo
Rolando Bruno was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After spending three years in Spain, he returned to his home country to fully dedicate himself to developing his unique musical vision. His current tropical music project began in 2005 while he was still a member of the garage-punk band Los Peyotes. While
Los Peyotes followed the classic rock band format, Bruno’s approach to cumbia started as a solo endeavor,
using his computer — which he jokingly calls his “best friend” — to create backing tracks, ironically naming it
his “MIDI Orchestra.” In 2015, Bruno expanded his sound by forming a full band and introducing a new name: Rolando Bruno & El Grupo Arévalo, a supergroup made up of musicians from the Buenos Aires underground scene. The lineup
includes members of Les Mentettes, Alfonso el Pintor, Los Alamos, Los Peyotes, and Pecera. Cumbia Trash: A Unique Sound and Aesthetic His music is rooted in cumbia, but Bruno defines it as “cumbia trash”: a style that blends Peruvian chicha,
Argentine cumbia from the ’80s and ’90s, psychedelic rock, Afro rhythms, and other global influences. This
genre is defined not only by its sound but also by its distinctive vintage aesthetic and visuals, which are a key
part of the project’s identity. Their live shows are a guaranteed explosion of tropical fever and dancefloor
delirium.
