About this Event
This May, Rogue Collective is introducing our first collaborative art showcase!
Join us in celebrating local young artists across multiple media types. Ava Vidales, Tyler Phan, and Najat Keftaro have come together to curate a show we have titled VIVID.
Ava Vidales is a 25-year-old fine artist. "For a while now, painting has become a very important form of therapy for me. When my mind goes quiet, the world fades out, and it's just me and the canvas... there's no feeling like it. The healing that art can do is something that I’ve experienced firsthand and has led me to fully go for what I’ve dreamed of for years now. I’m a firm believer in what’s meant for you will not cause you any confusion… and I’ve never felt more sure of something.
Through sharing my work, I hope that the emotion and connection that painting has brought me can be received by another."
Tyler Phan is a 24-year-old illustrator. "My work focuses primarily on telling stories. Stories have this amazing ability to reignite our passions and make us feel seen. Especially so with visual mediums like art, film or TV. I aspire to share stories that help people feel less alone while also inspiring them.
I encapsulate a sense of fun in my work. The world always needs some levity and everyone could use a good laugh. At the end of the day, as long as my work is fun to look at…then cool."
Najat Keftaro is a 26 year old multi media artist "My work explores identity, belonging, and the search for home within oneself. Home has always been a feeling for me something constantly evolving, shaped by memory, relationships, dreams, and self-understanding.
I am deeply influenced by dreams, symbolism, and the surreal, and I am drawn to what I do not fully understand. Conversations with friends, strangers, and my partner their perspectives, stories, and ways of moving through life are an endless source of inspiration for me. I believe art has the ability to reveal hidden truths about who we are and what we carry within us.
Through my practice, I reflect on identity as something always shifting and being redefined. This is reflected in the range of mediums I explore an ongoing process of experimentation and discovery. We are constantly, and hopefully, evolving. For me, art is both a mirror and a map, helping me understand myself, my sense of belonging, and what home truly feels like."
