Blast off into summer at Rocketeer Academy Summer Camp at the Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, NM! Cadets spend a week exploring rockets, robots, and the wonders of space at the Clyde W. Tombaugh Education Building at the New Mexico Museum of Space History.Two one‑week sessions in 2026:
July 6–10
July 13–17
Programs (students entering fall 2026):
Explorers: grades 3–5, limited to 25 cadets
Challengers: grades 6–8, limited to 25 cadets
Cadets dive into hands‑on activities all week long, including:
Rocket building and launches
Solar system exploration and night‑sky navigation
Coding, drones, and robotics
They will also learn about the museum’s 50‑year history and get a sneak peek at the upcoming International Space Hall of Fame induction.
A special field trip to Holloman Air Force Base and the 704th Test Group is included, with limited parent spots available (valid ID required).
Cost: $275 per cadet, including lunches, camp t‑shirt, and field trip.
Location: Clyde W. Tombaugh Education Building, New Mexico Museum of Space History, Alamogordo, NM.
Camp hours:
Monday–Thursday: 9:00 am–4:00 pm
Friday: 9:00 am–12:00 pm, with cadet graduation and a pizza party to celebrate the week
