Rock & Spesialreiser fyller 25 år og feirer med en siste fest helgen 28/29/30 August.Et av de mest innflytelsesrike banda innen amerikansk garage-punk var Dead Moon. Nå kommer selveste Toody Cole tilbake -med band til Oslo!
Dead Moon ble dannet av Toody Cole – sammen med sin mann og kreative partner Fred Cole – ett rått og kompromissløst lydbilde som ble en lenke mellom 60-talets amerikanske garagerock og senere generasjoners punk-og rock'n'roll bevegelser. Hennes distinkte, melodiska basspill og umiskjennelige stemme var avgjørende for Dead Moons hardtslående trioformat og skapte et spesielt lydbilde som fortsatt inspirerer band over hele kloden.
Etter at trommeslager Andrew Loomis og gitarist Fred Cole dessverre døde for en del år tilbake, har endelig Toody begynt å fremføre Dead Moons låter sammen med Kelly Haliburton – hennes langvarige bandkollega fra Pierced Arrows tiden – og Christopher March, begge fra Jenny Don’t & The Spurs.
Sammen hedrer de Dead Moons store back-katalog. Låtene blir fremført med ny intensitet og ærefrykt.
SPECIAL GUEST: Jenny Don’t and the Spurs
Jenny Don’t and the Spurs har i over et 10-år gått sin egen vei innen musikken og banet vei for en unik form av høyenergisk country-western som hylles av både det tradisjonelle countrypublikummet og garagerockfansen. Deres karismatiske og smittende entusiasme på scenen, og etterhvert omfattande diskografi har gitt dem et global publikum og ført dem på turnéer til kontinenter som countryband sjelden besøker.
Den siste plata, "Broken Hearted Blue", kom i 2024 og nå ser vi fram til å oppleve Jenny Don’t and the Spurs live her i Oslo.

Shameless bimbo energy, roaring electric guitars, and honey-sweet vocal melodies — in these times of dark headlines, the world needs the positive energy of Thee Ultra Bimboos more than ever! This all-women four-piece carved their path from the rock’n’roll underground of 1990s Helsinki all the way to stages across Europe, at a time when the scene was heavily male-dominated. They were pioneers, cult favorites, and a live band guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Formed in the summer of 1994, Thee Ultra Bimboos first captivated audiences on March 15, 1995, at Helsinki’s Semifinal, performing at the 30th birthday party of The Flaming Sideburns guitarist Jukka Suksi. Nothing kicks off a party better than irresistible garage riffs blasted at full volume.
Thee Ultra Bimboos began their recording career with the EP Absolutely Fabulous (1995), which quickly spawned live favorites like “Hypnotized” and “Who Stole My Underwear?”. With their delightfully off-kilter, comic-book-inspired ’60s trash-pop aesthetic, their cult reputation grew when the German label Twang! released the compilation We Can Stop Whenever We Want (1997), featuring their singles and EP tracks. Their albums Supermess (1997), Four Fans Can’t Be Wrong (2000), and Bimboo Wizard (2003) expanded their sound from primitive garage rock into touches of Motown and even country, ultimately creating a universe entirely of their own — the Bimbooverse. This unique sound also caught the attention of Micke Lohse of Sweden’s Atomic Swing, who produced what would become Thee Ultra Bimboos’ final album.
The band made a triumphant comeback at the Jytäkesä Go-Go Festival in Helsinki in the summer of 2025, celebrating their 30th anniversary. In November that same year, the band played a club tour in Finland with The Flaming Sideburns. A rare gem live and a true treat, Thee Ultra Bimboos are set to play a handful of select shows in 2026. When they’re in town, it’s a party you don´t want to miss!
