Rochester Photobook Club is an informal get-together for people who like photography and books. Think of it like a book club, but specifically for books by photographers. Some of our quarterly sessions will focus on a particular book, whilst others are centred around a theme and photobooks exploring this theme.
The meet-ups are an opportunity to see new photographic projects and to discuss and reflect on image-making with other photographers in the local area.
Rochester Photobook Club began in 2015 when two ex-KIAD students (Rikard Österlund and Tracy Affleck) wanted to create a space to share their love of photography with like-minded people. They held regular meet-ups until 2020 when COVID times made things challenging, BUT it is now back.
Theme For January Event: Landscapes.
Landscapes are an increasingly common subject for recent books, connecting us to social, ecological, and existential questions— a rich ground for creative exploration. Come along to January event to look at a selection of old and new books of landscape photography.
