Join us as for a celebration of the the co-operative movement in the place where it all began, here in Rochdale. Taking place in Rochdale Town Hall, Town Hall Square and Broadfield Park Slopes, the event will feature 20 stalls.
Learn more about the history of the co-operative movement and pick up unique treats from the fairtrade market.
Come and explore modern co-operative organisations, including Metro Moneywise, which supports affordable lending, and Manchester-based, Partisan Collective, which arranges cultural events and meet ups for its members.
See the new Rochdale community banner, created by local artists and inspired by the protest banners of the past. Kids can have a go at making their own mini banners which they can carry in a soecial banner parade down the slopes.
Inside the town hall, visit a recreated Victorian street scene, inpired by the gank, one of Rochdale most notorious slums.
Customise your denim with the a special visible mending embroidery workshop inspired by the Japanese art of sashiko.
You don't need to book this free event, but the mini banner marking sessions will be taking place between 10am and 12noon, and the banner parade down the slopes will be starting at 12.30pm.
