Join the City of Portsmouth in Cradock on March 25 for ROC the Block, Portsmouth’s initiative to 𝗥eclaim 𝗢ur 𝗖ommunity. As communities across Hampton Roads prepare for the Great American Cleanup on March 27–28, this is your chance to jump in early right here in Portsmouth.ROC the Block is the City of Portsmouth’s neighborhood-based initiative focused on improving quality of life, safety, and access to resources—one community at a time.
What to expect:
• Community walk-through to identify neighborhood concerns
• Litter and bulk trash cleanup
• Stormwater drain inspections
• Street sign and streetlight checks
• Reporting potholes and code concerns
Residents can also connect directly with City of Portsmouth staff for information and support, including:
• Social Services & Benefits Assistance (SNAP, Medicaid, family services, and more)
• Behavioral Healthcare Services, including crisis support, treatment services, and care coordination
• Rapid Revive! overdose response training
• Harm reduction resources and educational materials
Can’t join the walk? No problem. Residents are encouraged to step outside, speak with representatives, and share concerns while teams are in the neighborhood.
