Here is an opportunity for you to become a Robotics Engineer for a Day'. Experience what it would be like to study engineering at Heriot-Watt University.

We have developed a number of interactive workshops to showcase our Engineering degree programmes (Mechanical; Energy; Automotive; Chemical; Electrical and Electronic; Robotics, Autonomous and Interactive Systems, Civil and Architectural Engineering).
Our next fun and interactive Engineering workshop will be the 'Robotics Engineer for a Day'. We have seen robots these days being able to perform many intelligent tasks. One such task that a lot of mobile robots exhibit is Obstacle Avoidance. These robots can automatically sense and overcome obstacles on its path with the help of certain sensors. In this workshop, participants will be implementing such a robot without any of the hardware that is required! Instead, they will perform a simulation of an obstacle avoidance vehicle using simulation environment.

The workshop will be experiential and highlight some of the challenges, opportunities and rewards of a career in engineering and give students some insight to a career in engineering.

We hope you have an enjoyable experience as you participate and engage with faculty and staff.

Certificates of participation will be awarded to all those who participate and hand in their projects.
