About this Event
In this workshop, kids will learn about the different parts of the Edison robot, including its sensors, motors, and buttons. They’ll use barcodes to activate pre-programmed behaviours, such as obstacle detection, and to create their own programs using EdBlocks, a drag-and-drop coding environment. They'll start by understanding the basic movements of the Edison through Edblocks and play around with the speed and direction. They’ll also experiment with EdScratch to explore more advanced coding features and program Edison to follow a line using its tracking sensors. Finally, they’ll explore the other features of the Edisonbot, such as playing music and more!!
Note: if your child can no longer attend, please cancel the booking to allow the opportunity to be given to another child.
Robogals is a student-run global organisation started in 2008 with the mission to inspire and empower young women to pursue STEM fields. We do this by running hands-on workshops at schools and libraries around Auckland. These are run by volunteers from the University of Auckland. Our workshops are completely free of charge, and are only possible from the support of our kind sponsors.
