Familiar to South Africans from his hits All of Woman, Baby you been good, Perfect Day and many others, Robin Auld's music has evolved from the pop/rock sound of his early hits into a contemporary mix of roots and blues.
His latest album. “The Everlovin’ wind” has had a great reception, with both singles “Underground” and “Country Mile” making the Mix Fm top ten.
Born in Lusaka, Zambia to Scots parents, Robin's childhood was spent alternating between Southern Africa and Scotland, a journey reflected in the African and Celtic influences in his music. He learned to play the guitar by listening to Hendrix, Ry Cooder and Neil Young, also absorbing influences from the various guitarists of Southern Africa.
Based in Cape Town, he has performed and recorded in New York, London, Glasgow and Nashville, performing at festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Tartan Hearts, Gold Coast Ocean Fest, and Womad.
