During his time at A.L. Brown High School in the late 1950s, Robert Tucker discovered his love for running, excelling in track events such as the 440 and mile relays. His devotion to running spanned over 30 years, with an 18-year stretch of never missing a day, which served as a source of solace and strength as he faced the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease and Colon Cancer in his later life. In tribute to his remarkable journey, we proudly present the Robert Tucker Run 5K, a heartfelt homage to his enduring spirit and commitment to philanthropy.
Proceeds from the 5K will be dedicated to supporting The Community Free Clinic, a vital healthcare resource in Concord. As the sole provider of medical services and prescription medications for low-income, uninsured adults in Cabarrus County, The Community Free Clinic plays a crucial role in improving health outcomes and fostering well-being within our community.

Do I have to run?
No! You can walk. You can even register a dog (only) and bring them with you!
Do I have to register my dog?
Yes, a dog at the event would need to be registered.
What if I want to support the event without running or walking?
We have a Sleep-In Supporter option so you can show support, get a t-shirt but not participate in the walk/run.
Is there a time limit?
Because the event will be in downtown Kannapolis, the awards ceremony will occur approximately one hour after the start time. The roads will need to be reopened for shopping by 9:30/10:00 a.m.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! There are several volunteer options available within the registration link.
What if I want to donate above my registration fee?
There is an option within registration that allows an additional donation amount.
Is this registration/donation tax deductible?
Yes! All registration/donation funds go directly to The Community Free Clinic, which is a 501(c)(3).
