2014. Village Books co-launched Rob's prescient post-apocalyptic, pandemic series that began in B'ham and went south. No Man's Land ends the trilogy back in B'ham. The disease, eerily like Covid, faded. In America, there's plenty of space... but fear, anger, and lust for power still compete to control Lizzie's life.
Local teacher/author Robert L. Slater writes "fast paced, adrenaline soaked" science fiction with "dark, compelling" characters. His Deserted Lands universe has earned fans, awards, and worldwide exposure.
Rob writes to give his students dealt challenging hands, protagonists to identify with. He's a jack-of-all-trades, reads, builds, gardens, acts, sings, recycles, and more.
