About this Event

We spent a lot of time internally debating what speakers might fit the bill for a 10 Years of BINJ event. But with the current unruly political climate, there weren’t many journalists or intellectuals who we felt wouldn’t be seen as too soft or silent on certain sensitive topics, or who wouldn’t say something unsavory and attract unwanted attention.

And so instead, we decided to invite a bunch of standup comics and other cynical friends to rail against the media. What could possibly go wrong?

Specifically, we asked each of them to skewer the media or relevant pop culture subject. You can expect everything from jokes about partisan hacks to a history segment on comedy and journalism intermingling in alternative newspapers.

If you’ve ever wondered if people still laughed during past trying times of unrest and threats against free speech, press, and assembly, join us on Nov. 8 and find out.

We will announce new performers every week leading up to the event, and we are interviewing the comedians ahead of time.

There will also be a silent auction donated by Mass Magazine Man featuring rare vintage publications from around New England. The auction will start online before the event. More details coming soon.

PLEASE NOTE: All tickets are the same, but we made options available for people to donate more than $50 if they are able to. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you in Cambridge!
