About this Event
In 2015 artist and story teller Naomi Steinberg embarked on a remarkable solo journey of 382 days and 55,965 kilometers around the globe, by land and sea. Her subsequent memoir, Goosefeather, integrates travelogue and philosophical musings, detailing the highs and lows of an unforgettable international adventure.
Though the book came into the world in 2020, it was a terrible time to go on tour… and in fact touring the book had to wait until just this past summer when Naomi finally drove to Toronto and back with a 55-show tour, which began with a wonderful Send-Off Salon at Secret Headquarters, the home of the Secret Lantern Society.
Now, Naomi can answer exciting questions like: How many geese statues are there in Wawa, Ontario? How should you proceed when time-zones are crossed but not noticed and the time to arrive on time for a show is suddenly an hour earlier? Who gives the best standing ovations?
These questions and more will be answered as Naomi interweaves stories from the road with readings from the Goosefeather book. The evening will culminate with the telling of a traditional tale, one of Naomi Steinberg’s favourite things to do. And of course copies of the Goosefeather book will be available for perusal and purchase!
