WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?
Traffic fatalities and serious injuries are preventable and a safer transportation system is achievable. You will learn about a systemic approach to roadway safety that involves, in part, safe road users.
The number of people who have lost their life in a crash is at an all time high in the two-county area. Over the last 6 years, the total number of fatalities has increased at a faster rate (11%) than the total number of crashes (4%). On average, almost 25% of all fatal and serious injury crashes involved a non-motorized road user. *
Roundabouts, pedestrian crossings, median improvements... Public investments in safety projects are at an all time high! Learn about how and why are effective treatments for improving safety for all road users.
Our communities need roadway safety champions to advocate for a safety-first mindset when it comes policy, planning, design, and road user behavior.
*Based on 5-year rolling averages.
