About this Event
In this workshop, we will cover some of the things you might encounter on a ride, and emergency fixes that will get you home.
This workshop is open to self-identifying women only.
If you need to learn how to change an inner tube and fix a puncture, please book on our Basic Bike Maintenance Workshop as we won’t cover punctures in this session.
Together we will cover:
- Brakes – troubleshooting “spongy”, sticking and noisy brakes, emergency fixes
- Gears – troubleshooting skipping gears
- Chains – noisy chains, when a chain needs replacing and demo of what to do if it snaps on a ride
- What tools you need to carry with you on a ride for maximum preparedness but minimum weight!
You will need:
- Your bike (or you can work on one of ours)
- Your own refreshments
- Comfortable warm clothing you don’t mind getting mucky (we don’t have heating!)

Cancellation: If you can’t make it, PLEASE LET US KNOW in advance so we know who to expect and aren’t left waiting.
Parking: Please note that we do not have designated parking spaces, you can park on Chaucer street but it’s £2.80 per hour. We’d recommended cycling.
