About this Event
Join us for an empowering afternoon of conversation, celebration, and connection.
Roadside Futures is part of the ongoing work by Article 12 in Scotland to empower young Gypsy/Travellers as Human Rights Defenders.
The project focuses on rights, empowerment, and representation, supporting young people to understand and use their rights to influence change at both local and national levels.
Through workshops, creative learning, and engagement with decision-makers, participants have built knowledge, confidence, and pride proving that when young people are trusted to lead, communities thrive.
This event brings together young Gypsy/Travellers, community members, and partners to celebrate leadership, share learning, and strengthen the movement for equality and inclusion.
Light food and refreshments will be provided.
Why This Matters
For too long, Gypsy/Traveller voices — especially young people’s voices — have been excluded from the conversations that shape their lives.
Roadside Futures changes that.
By placing rights and empowerment at the centre, the project ensures young Gypsy/Travellers can stand proud in their identity, speak with confidence, and influence decisions that reflect their lived experiences.
This is more than a project — it’s a movement toward a fairer, more inclusive Scotland where everyone’s rights are recognised, respected, and protected.
