Last year, our community spoke up about dangerous intersections and risky stretches of road. That feedback helped strengthen our funding applications. In the 2025-26 financial year we secured over $6 million in road safety funding. Projects include:
Safer Local Roads and Streets Program Projects:
📌 Mount Eliza Woodlands (Local Area Traffic Management)
📌 Marcia Avenue, Rye (Local Area Traffic Management)
📌 Keogh St and Potton Ave Rosebud
📌Heales St & Hodgkinson St Dromana
Black Spot Projects:
📌 Forest Drive, Mount Martha
📌 Browns Road / Jetty Road, Boneo
📌Wilsons Road, Mornington
📌Capel Sound (Local Area Traffic Management)
📌Tucks Road/ Shands Road, Main Ridge
📌Mornington (Local Area Traffic Management)
📌Colchester Road & Newington Avenue, Rosebud
We’re now preparing our next round of submissions under the Federal Black Spot Program for 2027-28, and we’re asking residents to help us again.
The Black Spot Program funds safety upgrades at locations with a history of serious crashes, or where there’s strong evidence a serious crash could occur.
To prepare the 2027–2028 submissions, an interactive map is now live showing proposed locations.
Residents are asked to click on a pink pin and complete a short three question survey explaining their concerns.
How to provide your thoughts:
Community consultation is currently open and closes 3 April 2026.
