Our next RMJHS Book Club meeting will take place at JCC Denver on Sunday, December 7th at 3:30 PM. We’ll be reading and discussing the new Jewish family history memoir Melting Point: Family, Memory, and the Search for a Promised Land. The author, Rachel Cockerell, researched the history of her great-grandfather David Jochelmann and his involvement in the Galveston Movement, which brought around 10,000 Jews to the United States through Texas in the early 20th century. Thanks to an exciting partnership with the Mizel Arts and Culture Center at JCC Denver and the Jewish Book Council, Ms. Cockerell will be joining us by Zoom to discuss the book! We look forward to a fascinating conversation. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you are planning to join us!
