Stage Intimacy
Consent-based practice is far more than a passing trend in theatre, film, and television - it's a vital approach that fosters a culture of consent, ensuring intimate stories are told both safely and artistically. In this workshop, you'll gain essential tools for building a consent-based process, from setting boundaries to desexualizing the creative process. We'll also explore key elements of theatrical intimacy choreography and offer specific insights for areas like musical theatre's physical storytelling. This course draws on the foundational teachings of Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE), Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC), and Theatrical Intimacy Laboratory (TIL). *Note: While Rachel Walliser does not claim to be an expert, her goal is to offer this workshop as a stepping stone, making consent-based practices more accessible to all artists.*
