COURSE INFO: Qigong overview: (pronounced "Chee Gong") Qigong is the practice of releasing tension from the body and replacing it with good circulation and vitality. This is accomplished by identifying and working with the sensations your body experiences (especially breathing muscles) when practicing Qigong to find tension in specific parts of the body, then to release the tension, and then finally to teach the body to function more efficiently without the tension. It is about healing old/new injuries, increasing our energy level, and bolstering our immune system. Our bodies have energy lines that are directly engaged using the skills of Qigong. Smooth flowing energy lines are what help to flush out present and potential illnesses. With regular practice participants will notice that they have more energy, that stiffness and pain is diminished in the body, that they become aware of strength and resilience in the body of which they were not aware or had forgotten, and that what they learn about letting go of negative habits in the body translates to all other areas in life. Some practitioners will learn to feel the energy pathways and certain “gates” in the body enough to work with them directly.
The exercises can be adjusted to accommodate participants with injuries or other limitations. For example, most exercises can be performed seated.
COURSE CURRICULUM: . All levels welcome! As usual, the session will include a Qigong set which will be different than the previous session. Crystal Dragon Qigong is particularly successful at releasing blockages through twisting and turning (like a dragon!), and fosters a more balanced flow throughout the body. This session we’ll also work on the short Yang style set of 13 moves and the two-person exercise called Push Hands to further help identify tensions points in our bodies and to assist our partners in identifying their own. In addition, it can be used to better focus on the development of the 4 energy gates in the body to enhance coordination.
PRACTICE VIDEOS: Included with the course is access to a Facebook Group where I post notifications and practice videos to help you train throughout the week.
Feel free to send any questions you may have to either [email protected] or message this Facebook page.
Thank you so much for your interest!
