About this Event
Join ActiveSGV for our Rivers & Mountains Explorer Series with a hike along the beautiful Gabrielino Trail and learn about successful expansion of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and learn about other efforts to protect and improve access to public lands for future generations!
THIS EVENT IS A HIKE and it will start/finish at the Gabrielino Lower Parking, Explored Rd, Pasadena. The hike is approximately 7.5 - miles out-and-back, it's moderately challenging route that includes several water crossing. Due to the length, this hike is not recommended for anyone under 12. You can bring your dog but they must be leasehed at all times.
Snacks will be provided!
Pre-registration is required for all participants. If you are attending with other family members, each person must be registered separately to attend.
Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Timeline:
- 8:00 AM - Meet at Gabrielino Lower Parking, Explored Rd in Pasadena
- 8:30 AM - Begin the Hike!
- 10:00 AM - Reach Brown Mountain - Lunch
- 12:30 PM - Return to start loaction
Start/End: Gabrielino Lower Parking, Explored Rd in Pasadena
Route: Approx. 7.5 - mile hike, moderately challenging route and incliudes several water crossing

Getting There: Metro, Foothill Transit

What to Bring:
- Water bottle filled with water!
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Sancks but lunch will be provided!
- Wear appropriate shoes
- Sunblock and a hat
