March 28 & 29, 2026: River Raisin NBP will be holding a special living history program on 19th Century Gunsmithing from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Master gunsmith Bruce Simmet and his apprentices will demonstrate how the skilled tradesmen of the frontier built and maintained firearms in the age of the flintlock. This is a free public event.
Note: This demonstration of 19th century gunsmithing is for educational purposes only. Visitors may not bring modern or antique weapons for repairs, sale, or appraisals.
