Our Yin/Restorative practice experience is a wonderful way to release stress and rejuvenate the body and mind. We will use simple movements, joint and neck releases, meditative breath work and even the walls to find release and relaxation.The first part of class we will explore Yin postures. Using gravity and little prop use, Yin yoga can help deeply open our body with long meditative holds encouraging our fascial tissue to slowly release "stickiness". Yin provides an opportunity for us to explore strengthening our emotional bodies by using our controlled breathing, bringing us into the parasympathetic nervous system.
The second half of class, we will explore more supportive postures for our Restorative Yoga practice. As with our Yin portion of the class, postures are held for longer periods of time to help free us from tension and stress, but will be fully supported by using props and the wall.
This practice is for all humans who are looking to slowly open up tight areas of the body, take the mind, and to help create better overall mobility.
