Ripperside Cinema Galore’s 1-Year Anniversary Screening: Coffy (1973) Ripperside Cinema Galore (RCG) proudly marks one year of bringing bold, boundary-pushing films to Riverside, CA at the micro-cinema level. In partnership with See It On 16MM, RCG presents Coffy, a trailblazing blaxploitation action film written and directed by Jack Hill.
Starring the iconic Pam Grier in her breakout role, Coffy follows a fearless Black female vigilante who takes justice into her own hands to battle drug dealers and corruption. Grier’s electrifying performance shattered stereotypes and redefined female action heroes, making Coffy a landmark in 1970s cinema and Black representation on screen.
