Riot Baby are launching their brand new single Bad Decisions with Guringai sister live-looping duo Charlie Needs Braces at the Northcote Uniting Hall.
Yes, that's right, a real life gig that you can take your kids to, right in the heart of Northcote at an accessible, public-transport friendly venue, surrounded by ice-cream shops!
Note: Volume will be at a level for little ears to enjoy, but many kids are more comfortable with hearing protection. We will have a few pairs available to borrow if you get caught short, but buying a pair of cans from your local hardware store is a good investment in your kid's gig-going future!
Run sheet:
10:00am - Doors
10:30am - 11:00am - Charlie Needs Braces
11:15am - 12:00pm - Riot Baby
12:30pm - Everybody out!
=======
Riot Baby is a punk band for kids, by kids and parents. They make fast and loud music for little people, and the big people that take them to gigs.
Formed in late-2019 when they began making punk versions of Australian kids books, Riot Baby write songs about navigating late-stage capitalism, pandemics, disasters, bullies, and big feelings.
Featuring past and present members of Vardos, CircusOz, Tek-Tek Ensemble, Gamelan DanAnda, Teeny Tiny Stevies and more, Riot Baby play sticky carpet pubs, major festivals and everywhere in between.
In 2023 Riot Baby was nominated for the APRA Song of the Year at the Major Minor Music Australia Awards for their song Listen to Your Mum.
Charlie Needs Braces are a live looping act made up of GuriNgai sisters Charlie and Miri. They have drawn in audiences across Australia with their energetic musical landscapes weaving together stories and language. In 2022 they came first place in the Upstart Awards, and won the Archie Roach Award for Emerging Talent in 2023 through Music Victoria Awards.
Their latest album, NYAA WA, has further expanded their reach, with music videos landing in the top 50 for 2024 on Rage.
