About this Event
Built around five key components—Relationships, Instruction, Goals, Organization, and Relevance (R.I.G.O.R.)—this four-day workshop develops educators’ knowledge of what rigor looks and sounds like through active classroom visits and peer observations and a deep dive into the RIGOR tool. Through expert noticing skills, participants learn to identify and implement effective teaching practices that promote deep learning and student achievement.
• Relationships: Foster connections that encourage academic risk-taking and value student ideas
• Instruction: Implement evidence-based practices that support meaningful student engagement and productive struggle
• Goals: Align learning objectives with grade-level expectations and empower students to drive their own learning
• Organization: Create accessible, rich learning environments with flexible grouping patterns and effective management
• Relevance: Connect learning to students’ lived experiences and make content culturally relevant and inclusive
Suitable for all educators—We are encouraging participants to attend with a team (Admin, Coach, teacher, etc.)
This four-day R.I.G.O.R. Walks workshop will provide actionable strategies for immediate classroom application and skills to maintain high expectations while providing appropriate support for all learners.
