ABOUT
right before i go sheds light on an often unspoken reality by sharing the real last words of individuals lost to suicide. These letters represent a wide range of voices, including veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals who experienced bullying, those living with depression, and public figures whose stories resonated nationwide. The play also incorporates reflections from survivors, creating a narrative that is both honest and hopeful.
Since premiering at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2015, this impactful production has been performed across the country, inspiring meaningful dialogue and raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. It offers audiences an opportunity to listen, learn, and connect with resources that support healing and understanding.
Ohio University Lancaster Theatre is honored to partner with ADAMH of Fairfield County, whose team members will be present at each performance to provide support, information, and mental health resources.
The running time is approximately one hour, not including the pre-show introduction and the post-show talk-back, both designed to deepen the conversation and offer space for reflection.
