RIFT: A Sonic Environment for Multi-Timescale Listening Opening Night | Tuesday, June 9 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM WaterFire Arts Center | 475 Valley Street, Providence RI
The WaterFire Arts Center opens RIFT, a new immersive installation by Yuval Gur, on Tuesday, June 9 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM in the Main Hall.
Built from environmental recordings of Iceland's glaciers, geothermal fields, and tectonic systems, RIFT transforms 15,000 square feet into a navigable world of sound, vibration, and light. Move through it, feel it, and experience it differently from every corner of the room.
Opening night features live musical performances unfolding within the installation throughout the evening.
Featuring a special beverage/elixir performance by Willa Van Nostrand, who's solo exhibition, Of the Essence, is on view in the gallery.
RIFT runs June 9–12. Free and open to the public.
