Ready to help your family feel confident riding bikes together? Join Bike Walk Macon at Amerson River Park for a free Family Ride Ready class designed for kids who already know how to ride a bike and are ready to practice in a safe, real-world environment.
The class will begin at the Playground Pavilion parking lot.
𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀:
Amerson is the perfect classroom - with wide paths, very low traffic roads, and plenty of space to ride at a comfortable pace away from cars.
During this class, families will learn and practice:
- The ABC Quick Check to make sure bikes are safe before every ride
- Proper helmet fit and safety, using bike lights
- Basic road and path safety
- How to ride predictably and confidently around others
- Tips for riding together as a family in parks and on neighborhood streets
After learning the basics, participants will take a guided, low-pace ride through the park to put their new skills into action.
This class is free to attend and will be offered on March 21, April 11, and May 16. Each rider will receive a helmet, rechargeable bike lights, and bike safety education materials while supplies last.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. Children should already be able to pedal, steer, and stop on their own. Come ready to ride, learn, and explore Amerson River Park together!
