Richard Hammond crashed my Jet Car - a talk by Andrew Hurdle

Many will remember the infamous accident which almost claimed the life of Richard Hammond when he crashed the Vampire jet car at RAF Elvington airbase near York in 2006 while filming for Top Gear.
We are privileged to welcome the designer, builder and regular driver of that car, Andrew Hurdle, who will come and talk about its history, how the engine works and what it's like to drive.
Our previous land speed record talk attracted much attention, so with the Vampire (now fully rebuilt) a current UK Land Speed record holder, we can expect a full house, so get there early to secure a seat.
Doors open at 19:30 and we'll start at 20:00 sharp. Because of the demand, we would ask non paid up members to contribute £3 on the night, or just join up. Joining now will cover the whole of 2026 too, so at £20 for under 65s it's a bargain (£15 for those over)
