Richard Benitez III Jazz Trio at Waystone

Growing up around the music of Carlos Santana, Richard Benitez III grew a deep appreciation for the art of improvised music. Starting on trumpet from the age of 7, Richard now performs with Bay Area legends and groups such as Jazz Mafia, Steve Turre, Faye Carol, and many others as well as musicians from all over the world including Jazzmeia Horn and Mike Phillips. Taking the knowledge acquired from the many peers and mentors in his life, Richard now strives to give back to those before him by intertwining the roots of the music he was taught.
