Prepare for Ribbon Skirt Day with North Grenville's Indigenous Advisory Circle as they make ribbon skirts. Limited supplies will be provided, and guests are also encouraged to bring their own. Volunteers will provide sewing machines and teachings.Recommended materials to bring:
- enough fabric to make an ankle length skirt
- lengths of ribbon in a few different colours that will go around the bottom of the skirt
- your own sewing supplies, if you have them, though there will be a couple of sewing machines to share as well as pins and scissors

Ribbon Skirt Day was created after an Indigenous youth experienced bullying for wearing a traditional skirt to school. Parliament subsequently passed legislation and the day was first celebrated in 2023. It takes place every year on January 4.
