RIBA West Midlands is proud to present the RIBA West Midlands Awards 2026, hosted this year as part of Coventry University’s Industry Evening at the Delia Derbyshire Building.
Each year, the RIBA Awards celebrate the very best architecture across the region, recognising projects that demonstrate design excellence, innovation, sustainability and a meaningful contribution to people and place. The 2026 ceremony will bring together practices, clients, collaborators and partners to honour this year’s shortlisted schemes and to announce the recipient of the prestigious RIBA West Midlands Building of the Year 2026.
It is particularly fitting that this year’s awards will take place in the Delia Derbyshire Building, RIBA West Midlands Building of the Year 2025. A transformative project uniting the renovated Maurice Foss and Graham Sutherland buildings into a single, connected creative hub for Coventry University’s College of Arts and Society, the building exemplifies collaboration, adaptive reuse and ambition. Named after Coventry-born electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, it reflects a legacy of experimentation and creative innovation, values that resonate strongly with the spirit of the RIBA Awards.

The evening forms part of Coventry University’s Industry Night and the Dot Dot Dot… Graduate Festival, offering guests the opportunity to engage with emerging creative talent alongside established architectural practice. This convergence of industry, academia and practice reflects RIBA West Midlands’ commitment to supporting both the future and the present of the profession.
