To continue RIBA Europe’s mission to promote architecture, support architects and enhance its presence across the continent, we are pleased to announce our next event in Lisbon.
The programme will take place over two days, 8-9 May 2026, and we would like to invite you to join us for building & walking tours, keynote lectures, discussions and networking.
The theme is Lisbon on the Edge, and will explore Lisbon as a city at the intersection of rapid development, climate adaption, heritage and global capital, making it a compelling Europe case study for contemporary architectural practice.
We are delighted to have world-renowned UK architect, Amanda Levete, the lead architect who designed the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT), who will provide a keynote lecture on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the building’s opening. Followed by a Q&A and guided tour, the occasion will explore how the project transformed a key location on Lisbon’s riverside.
The event will be hosted across multiple Lisbon venues - including cultural institutions and exemplary built projects providing strong local character and direct engagement with the city.
Please note, that you can register for both or just one of the 2 days of the event. Upon registration, participants will receive further information on the agenda and meeting locations.

** Please note to attend the Keynote lecture at MAAT participants will need to pay an admission fee. Tickets for sale on the MAAT BOL online platform: €15 (Portugal residents) / €20 (non-residents), with a 25% discount for students and architects (with valid credentials) and MAAT Friends. Or participants may also pay at the museum's on-site ticket office.

Travel and accommodation are not included in your ticket price.

· If RIBA has to postpone or cancel the event the booker is entitled to a full refund of the ticket price only.

· RIBA reserves the right to refuse admission to any ticket holder.
