This Summer, two quintessential BC musicians reunite for a special series of shows on Vancouver Island. Vancouver’s piano man Matthew Presidente and folk darling Kele Fleming. After their ‘In My Dreams’ Fall 2023 tour, these two have been looking forward to working together again and bringing their tunes to some beautiful, outdoor summer venues. The tour will see stops in Victoria, Duncan and Hornby Island.. Each show will consist of a solo set from both artists showcasing their new material along with deeper cuts from their catalogues. They have also promised a few special collaborations, unique to each city.
The tour, dubbed ‘Rhythms of Compassion’ celebrates the release of Kele’s newest single ‘Compassion Machine (Hectic Remix)’ and Matthew’s upcoming single ‘The Rhythm’. You can be sure to hear renditions of these songs along with many more in this cozy, touching and intimate performance. About the Performers:
Vancouver’s piano man, Matthew Presidente (he/him/his) is a bold rock/pop songwriter. Whether performing solo or with his full band, his music’s honest queer perspective invokes nostalgia, small town memories and challenges you to reflect on an exciting journey of self discovery.
Referred to as “one of — if not — the best singer/songwriters our LGBT scene has” by Xtra Magazine (Vancouver), Matty has showcased his original material at Vancouver venues such as The Fox, The Chapel, The Roxy, The Railway Club, XYYVR and The Hollywood. Most recently he toured BC for a 10 city run including three Peak Pride weekends spreading queer entertainment through the province.
Along with producer Matt Roach (RainCity Recorders), he’s currently finishing a new full-band album with songs speaking of life changes, personal empowerment and ultimately evolution. You can hear the first singles, ‘Washington’, ‘Different Dreams’, ’Hundreds or Fives’ and ‘Sungold’ now on all streaming platforms.

Victoria folk-rock and sometimes synth wave artist Kele Fleming (she/they) is the distinct love child of Linda Perhacs and Ani DiFranco. She’s 70’s psychedelic, feministic, intelligent- quoting Darwin and Foucault mid song. Kele’s dynamic vocals range from choir girl naivete to raging Sinead O'Connor.
Profound lyrics that are more like call to actions, angry at humanity’s sad state of affairs. These are potent and important protest songs that rage against our indifference and apathy. Perfect for discerning and open-minded crowds, who have taste for authenticity and a pallet for the truth. For the Gen Z’s among us Kele’s music has accumulated over 500K listens on Spotify, her edgy single ‘In My Dream - Mercury Teardrop Remix’ alone, reaching a staggering 100K.
Kele is currently recording a new album with Juno and Western Canadian Music Award winning engineer, Sheldon Zaharko. The new album is slated for release later this year.
