About this Event
Rhythm,Voice & Expression! An Autism Music Workshop
Rhythm, Voice & Expression is a beginner-level, music appreciation workshop that allows participants to explore sound and music in ways that reveal their hidden talents while learning how to use music as a source of emotional regulation.
Participants will sing familiar songs, tinker on the piano and even take a spin on a DJ turntable! The event is for children, youth and adults on the autism spectrum who identify as part of the black or racialized communities. We are ceating opportunities for those who are in need of safe spaces and an understanding environment. Both verbal and non-verbal individuals are welcome.
The workshop will take place on June 20, 2026 at TCC-The Creative Child located at 1061 Eglinton Avenue West in Torronto. The event is hosted by The Empress Walk Initiative which is funded by The Ontario Trillium Foundation and the City of Toronto Black Mandated Fund. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Stolen From Africa as our organizational mentor.
Spaces are limited. Register today and see you there!
